Michael Sorkin brings 30+ years of global commercial experience in medical devices and services, starting up and building diverse and inclusive organizations for KMT Medical, Hollister, and Boston Scientific. Since 1995, he has led and has had full P&L responsibility for country and regional commercial operations while living in Europe, Australia/NZ, Japan, Asia, and the US. He has led businesses ranging from start up to $1 Billion in revenue and 2,000 people.
Michael was most recently Managing Director of KMT Medical, a portfolio of homecare companies in the US and Europe. Prior to KMT, he was Chief Commercial Officer for Hollister and previously VP Europe and VP Asia and Latin America for Hollister. Michael spent 22 years at Boston Scientific leading rapidly growing regional businesses.
Michael has a passion for leadership development and an extensive background in global strategy and execution and managing across cultural boundaries. Michael is regarded as a high energy, highly engaged, people-centered, and customer-focused leader who consistently delivers on his commitments. He has a history of turning around underperforming organizations through talent identification and development, setting crisp direction and focused and decisive action.
Michael is an Independent Director and Board Member for Cytophage, Ltd, (CYTO.V), a Canadian biotech company, that develops bacteriophages to kill targeted bacteria thereby reducing or replacing the use of antibiotics and contributing to the global fight against antimicrobial resistance.
Michael is also an Independent Director and Board Member for Shuttle Health, a company that provides digital solutions to empower physicians and DMEs to support patients’ access to therapy.
Michael has a B.A. in English from Colgate University and an M.B.A with a concentration in Marketing from the University of Massachusetts. He lives in St. Petersburg, FL and Lake Forest, IL.
