Joe Hofmeister is Co-founder and Vice President of Intensive Care Programs at Cerovations, a Minnesota medical device startup. Joe has over 30 years of experience in the medical device industry, in early-stage technology development, global market analysis and product management through management of global product launches.
Prior to Cerovations, Joe oversaw technology in-licensing as Director of Business Development at Starkey Hearing Technologies, America’s largest hearing aid manufacturer. Prior to Starkey, Joe served as CEO and CCO at Tamarack Habilitation, a technology innovator, where he increased revenues and profits each year for 5 years. Before Tamarack, Joe served as Sr. Manager of Strategic Marketing at Coloplast Corporation, a multinational medical device company. Prior to Coloplast, Joe worked in tech transfer as Technology Marketing Manager at the University of Minnesota’s Office for Technology Commercialization.
Before the U of M, Joe worked in a series of director-level roles in marketing, international sales and business development across 10 years at American Medical Systems (AMS). While at AMS – then a division of Pfizer Corp. – he served as Sr. Urology Analyst on Viagra, the blockbuster drug for erectile dysfunction. Before AMS, Joe spent five years at Muranaka Medical Instruments, Japan’s largest neurosurgical manufacturer as Director of Global Business Development.
Joe lives in Minneapolis where he maintains a medical device market analysis and technology licensing consultancy, Hofmeister Medical Consulting. He speaks Japanese and German, and holds an MBA in Marketing Decision Sciences from the University of Minnesota.
